In 1963, Clarence Sr. bought Herrmann's Insulation and both sons, Charles "Butch" Herrmann and Clarence "Cy" Herrmann Jr. joined the business.
In 1977-1978, Butch and Cy decided to use an old warehouse that was not being used all of the time for their business needs. They started storing a few boats and cars for local Hampshire residents. Seeing the demand for storage space in 1979, they began building more storage sheds.
By 1988, the storage business was in such demand that they sold Herrmann’s Insulation after 33 years and began to focus mainly on the storage business.
