Starting back in 1949, it all began with Clarence Herrmann Sr. when he
opened Herrmann’s Grocery in Hampshire.

After a period of time, their father, Clarence Sr.,  saw that his sons had
interests beyond his grocery business so he sold the store in 1962.

In 1963, Clarence Sr. bought Herrmann's Insulation and both sons, Charles "Butch" Herrmann and
Clarence "Cy" Herrmann Jr. joined the business.

In 1977-1978, Butch and Cy decided to use an old warehouse that was not being used all of the
time for their business needs.  They started storing a few boats and cars for local Hampshire
residents.  Seeing the demand for storage space in 1979, they began building more storage sheds.

By 1988, the storage business was in such demand that they sold Herrmann’s Insulation after 33
years and began to focus mainly on  the storage business.

Today, there is approximately 3 acres under roof and the next generation
of the Herrmann family has begun to help out with the business also.

Butch and Cy live on the premises and monitor all activity.
